'Mahanati', directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Priyanka Dutt, will hit the screens on May 9 in three languages - Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. 

The teaser, released on Saturday evening, minces no words.  'Anaganaga oka Mahanati', says Samantha's Madhuravani.  Cut to the past, a gracious, sari-clad Savitri (Keerthy Suresh charms us in black-n-white frames) is seen waving at her fans.  A legend she was, we conclude when an old man does a Pranam to her. 

Dulquer Salman as Gemini Ganesan and Vijay Devarakonda as  Vijay Antony are two of the important male characters in the movie.   

Since it's set in a bygone era, the glossiness of the glitzy world is old-worldly.  It seems Avinash's art direction, Thota Tharani's art supervision and, of course, Dani's cinematography are set to make this biopic a visual spectacle.  

Director Nag Ashwin, in fact, had put in years of research in writing the biopic.  Music is by Mickey J Meyer.  Production design is by Shivam.  Editing is by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
