‘Mahanati’ is all done with now

‘Mahanati’, starring Keerthy Suresh as the legendary Savitri, today had its pumpkin moment.  The delayed and meticulously-made film is now on its way to completing post-production works, which also involves extensive VFX works.  

As is known, the biopic will hit the screens on May 9.  ”The greatest story ever told about the greatest actress that ever lived unfolds on May 9th!” Vyjayanthi Movies recently said. It will release in Tamil as ‘Nadigaiyar Thilagam’.  

Samantha Akkineni, who is playing a key role in the movie, describes it as a masterpiece. Recently, her husband joined the film.  Naga Chaitanya will be seen as ANR at important junctures in the movie.  

Dulquer Salman as Gemini Ganesan, Vijay Devarakonda, Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao, Prakash Raj as Chakrapani, Malavika Nair, Shalini Pandey and others are part of the cast. Divya Vani as Savitri’s mother and Bhanu Priya as a dubbing artiste, too, are associated with the project.  It’s directed by Nag Ashwin of ‘Yevade Subrahmanyam’ fame. Mickey J Meyer is composing the music.
