Locusts invade Rajasthan, destroy crops like crazy!

Locusts, the crop-eating insects, on Monday invaded many districts in Rajasthan. As per reports, Jaipur, among others, has been severely affected.
"More than half of Rajasthan’s 33 districts are affected by invasion by these crop-munching insects," reports Hindustan Times.
Millions of locusts have invaded thousands of hectares of agricultural crops. Mostly, they affect only western Rajasthan districts bordering Pakistan. However, on Monday, lakhs of locusts hit Jaipur.
As per an India Today report, over the last few months, more than 5,00,000 hectares of agriculture lands have been affected by locusts. Going by this, the loss must be to the tune of hundreds of crores.
Last year, locusts damaged crops spread over 6,70,000 hectares in the State, bringing losses to the tune of Rs 1,000 Cr.
