Lakshmi Manchu turns singer

Actress Lakshmi Manchu of Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal' and 'Marandhen Mannithen' fame has turned a singer. In fact, she completed recorded for her first song in four hours flat.

The number, composed by Raghu Kunche, was recorded for the actress' upcoming film 'Dongata'. "I thank Raghu and lyricist Varikuppala Yadagiri for giving me a superb song with simple lyrics," Lakshmi says.

Lakshmi, daughter of veteran Telugu actor Mohanbabu (one of the close friends of Superstar Rajinikanth), is a producer too. Her brothers Manchu Manoj and Vishnu Manchu are popular actors in Kollywood.
