Within two days of the murder the cops have arrested one Gowrishankar who has confessed to the crimes. He has made the shocking revelation that since Logeshwari 's husband worked in the gulf she had become friendly with him in a meeting at Erode. The 27 year old man has claimed that he did not know that she was married and had a kid and even wed her in a temple a few months back. Later when he came to know about her marital status too he had accepted it and used to visit her whenever she called him when no one was around.

According to Gowrishankar he came to know that Logeshwari had illicit relationships with four to five men in the Kotagiri area and the couple had fought many times regarding the issue. On the fateful day he had visited the house and was having dinner when arguments arose again and in a fit of rage he had taken a pair of scissors lying there and had slit her throat. Since the boy Karthikeyan had witnessed the crime he had slit his throat too . Gowri has been lodged in the Coimbatore jail and cases have been registered against him.
