Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary General passes away

The very famous former Secretary General of the United Nations Kofi Annan passed away today. His family made an official statement that Kofi Annan died after a short illness at the age of 80. Kofi Annan hailed from Ghana and has served UN as the Secretary General for two terms.

He was also awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 2001 for his work. He died in a hospital in Switzerland in the early hours of this Saturday morning. He is survived by his family of wife Nane, and three children Ama, Kojo and Nina. 

“Whenever there was suffering or need, he reached out and touched many people with his deep compassion and empathy. He selflessly placed others first, radiating genuine kindness, warmth and brilliance in all he did. He wil be greatly missed by so many around the world. . .” an official release read.
