On Monday, it was reported that Telangana has got a 122% risk of community transmission, which is the second-worst in the country, as per a study. This shocking claim was made by India In Pixels, a private organization, based on the Aarogya Setu app data. As we reported, the organization created the metric as a "ratio of active cases to quarantined people - higher the figure, higher the people out there that can spread the disease."
After the infographic was widely reported, the KCR government refuted it. The Health Minister Eatala Rajender's office reportedly said that the formula behind this infographic is unscientific. "The organization thinks that just about 2,933 persons are quarantined in Telangana. This is a complete lie," the Minister said, adding that the "self-reported data from Arogya Setu App" doesn't constitute complete information.
Calling it a "complete misinterpretation of data", the Minister also suggested that it's nothing but mischief.
