Later Kasthuri removed the tweet and posted an apology. Nevertheless the transgender community armed with broomsticks took siege of Kasthuri’s house and raised slogans “Adakku Adakku Naavai adakku” (Control your tongue). They also demanded a public apology.
Kasthuri had replied to a tweet questioning her controversial stand to which she has replied “With all due respect, I have LGBT family members. And they have a sense of humor.”
