Captain Vijayakanth breathed his last on 28th December 2023, leaving his fans, followers and the film industry devastated. The legendary actor-politician's body was cremated at the DMDK headquarters in Koyambedu on 29th December. Celebrities and politicians visited and paid their last respects.
Now, actor Karthi and his father Sivakumar visited Vijayakanth's memorial and paid their final respects. Karthi opened up about his moments with the veteran to the press later. Sivakumar, who was a top hero during Vijayakanth's rise in Tamil cinema, also shared a few words about him and his philanthropy. This is now going viral on the internet.
Karthi said, "Not being able to pay my last respects to Captain will be a lifelong regret. I couldn't accept that he is no more. They will always keep serving food to the needy in his house. We love his movies, especially if he plays a cop, we will watch it continuously.
After I came to act, after I came to the actor's union, after I won the election, Captain spoke to me very happily whenever I met him. He is the one we think of whenever we face big challenges in the Nadigar Sangam.
We learned by watching him that a leader should lead the way and get down to work. We are also following Vijayakanth's policy. He was a tremendous personality and we miss him. He will always be in our hearts.
On the 19th, we organized a condolence meeting for him from the Nadigar Sangam. Vijayakanth's legacy will always be there. He has given a lot of love and I hope that love will continue to spread."
