The leading Tamil actor Karthi will be next seen as 'Vallavarayan Vandhiyathevan' in his upcoming release 'Ponniyin Selvan 1', coming out this September. He is currently working on Muthaiah's rural entertainer 'Viruman' and PS Mithran's spy thriller 'Sardar'.

Meanwhile, Indiaglitz reported to you exclusively back in 2019 that Karthi will be joining hands with the acclaimed director Raju Murugan of 'Gypsy' and 'Joker' fame after the magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan'. We also updated that Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi has been approached to play a powerful negative character in this upcoming movie.

Now, the latest news is that the Karthi-Raju Murugan project will go on floors and start shooting in May month. Karthi is expected to wrap up the shoot of the PS Mithran-helmed 'Sardar' in April. The Karthi-Raju Murugan project is likely to be announced on Tamil New Year's Day (April 14). An official announcement on the cast and crew will be made in April.

Dream Warrior Pictures is expected to produce this untitled venture. A source in the know told, "The talks began as soon as Raju Murugan's Joker went on to become a critically-acclaimed film. This movie too will be produced by Dream Warriors and will go on the floors once Karthi wraps up the shoot of Sardar."
