One of the most expected movies of Kollywood now is Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 directed by Shankar. This movie is the sequel to the 1996 superhit movie Indian, and is produced by Lyca Productions. The team has been shooting in different locations of Chennai.

While it was said earlier that Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn were approached to play the villain in Indian 2, the latest update is that Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor has joined the team and will play the villain. Anil Kapoor had earlier acted as the hero in Shankar's debut Hindi film Nayak, the remake of Mudhalvan.

Indian 2 also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Samuthirakani, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek and Delhi Ganesh and has music by Anirudh. Recently the team had shot some sequences in a prison in Andhra, and the movie is expected to release next year for Tamil New Year.
