Kamal Haasan met pressmen at the Chennai airport where they sought clarification on Tamil Nadu BJP leader Tamilisai Soundarajan’s dig at him calling him a fake rationalist. Kamal said that his Makkal Neethi Maiam party consists of people of all religions and beliefs and hence he does not press rationalism to them. Instead the veteran actor said that his political goal is to eradicate poverty and corruption.
To the criticism that his fans call him “Alwarpettai Aandavar” (The God of Alwarpet), Kamal said that it is a continuation of his fans calling him that from his cinema career. He stated that he would request his fans to stop calling him that and discontinue the habit of hero worship.
