The blockbuster hit 2019 cult classic 'Kaithi' starring Karthi catapulted its director Lokesh Kanagaraj into the big league. He went on to directed Vijay in 'Master' and his idol Kamal Haasan in 'Vikram' both of which were huge money spinners furthering his stock in South Indian cinema. He is now all set to direct Vijay's 'Thalapathy 67' which is one of the most hyped projects ever in Kollywood.

Meanwhile it is confirmed that after 'Thalapathy 67', Lokesh will be helming 'Kaithi 2' in with Karthi reprising the iconic role of Dilli and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. It is reported that talks are in with Raghava Lawrence to play the main villain in the film. if the deal goest through this will be the first time that the 'Kanchana' star will be playing a baddie in his entire career.

It is nothing new for Lokesh Kanagaraj making villains of top heroes. Vijay Sethupathi hit gold by playing the chief antagonist opposite Vijay in 'Master'. Similarly the sensational director also turned Suriya into a ruthless drug mafia leader Rolex in 'Vikram'. It is said that Vishal and Nivin Pauly are playing negative roles in 'Thalapathy 67' as well.

Sources say that Suriya will also appear as Rolex in 'Kaithi 2' making it yet another pathbreaking multistarrer from Lokesh Kanagaraj. Filming is set to begin in the second half of 2023 and more details of the rest of the cast and crew will be revealed soon.
