It was announced few weeks back that actress Jyothika starrer Ponmagal Vandhaal will be the first mainstream Tamil movie to have a direct OTT release skipping theatrical release and following this announcement there were numerous controversies as well.

Now it has been officially announced that Ponmagal Vandhaal will release globally on Amazon prime video on May 29. Ponmagal Vandhaal is produced by Suriya's 2D entertainment and has Jyothika playing an advocate.

Directed by debutant JJ Frederick, Ponmagal Vandhaal also stars K Bhagyaraj, Parthiban, Prathap Pothan, Pandiarajan, Thiagarajan and has music by Govind Vasantha and cinematography by Ramji.
