Jeevitha Rajasekhar recently made a remark about her daughter in a jovial manner at an event. When the host asked who between Shivani and Shivathmika (Jeevitha's daughters) spends more money, the latter said that she spends more money on food. Jeevitha chipped in and quipped that Shivathmika is very particular about whether the delivery boy has met the specifications of the order. In saying so, the yesteryear actress made a casual remark that has been described as casteist.
"My remarks, made in jest, have been blown out of proportion. The comments have been deemed offensive toward the Arya Vysya community. I had no intention to offend anybody. I would like to apologize for making the innocuous remark if somebody is offended," Jeevitha said in an interview.
She criticized the YouTube channels that recently ran fake stories on her daughters recently. The channels used false thumbnails in order to attract views. "The media has to remember that fake rumours affect us. If we do any wrong, you can question us publicly. But before you float falsehoods, please give us a chance to explain ourselves," Jeevitha said.
Jeevitha-directed 'Shekar' will hit the screens this Friday (May 20). It stars Dr. Rajasekhar in the lead.
