Jayam Ravi to have back to back film releases in September? – Deets inside

We all know that Jayam Ravi is playing the titular role of Ponniyin Selvan aka Arulmozhi Varman in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus dream project ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. The epic period fantasy drama is a cinematic adaptation of renowned author Kalki’s famous historical fiction novel of the same name. ‘PS 1’ is scheduled for a grand release on September 30. 

Now, the latest buzz is that Jayam Ravi’s another upcoming film is also planning for a theatrical release in September month. According to sources, the makers of the Jayam Ravi starrer ‘Agilan’ are planning to release the movie on September second weekend (tentatively around September 15). 

If this becomes official, Jayam Ravi will have two back to back releases in September. ‘Agilan’ is the second collaboration of Jayam Ravi and ‘Bhooloham’ director Kalyana Krishnan, with Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female lead. Touted to be an action thriller, this movie will show Jayam Ravi as a gangster and Priya Bhavani Shankar as a police officer. 

‘Agilan’ also stars Tanya Ravichandran, Harish Uthaman, Hareesh Peradi, Sirag Johnny and Thamizh in important roles. Sam CS scores music for the film while the cinematography is handled by Vivek. This gangster movie will explore the underworld of smugglers operating around the North Madras seaport.
