For a few months now there has been news about a biopic on former chief minister Jayalalitha and many actresses including Trisha have expressed their interest in playing the iron lady on screen. It is now official that director Vijay of Ajith's 'Kreedam' and Vijay's 'Thalaivaa' fame has signed on. The biopic will be produced by Vibri Media the company behind '83' a biopic on Kapil Dev's famous first cricket world cup win and 'NTR' the biopic on former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.

The Jayalalitha biopic will be launched on her birthday 24th February 2019 and the cast will reportedly have a mix of Bollywood and South Indian stars. One of our sources is of the opinion that Vidya Balan would be playing the lead while some others say it could be Nayanthara. The official announcement on the cast is expected soon.
