Jana Sena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan made his way to a polling booth in Mangalagiri today to cast his vote in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections and the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, happening simultaneously on May 13. Videos capturing Pawan Kalyan's voting process have since gone viral, depicting him arriving at the booth where officials greeted him and explained the voting system before he cast his vote in their presence.
Resuming his political journey, Pawan Kalyan had previously campaigned for the TDP-BJP alliance in the 2014 assembly elections, which led to their victory. However, he distanced himself from both parties later, citing their failure to deliver on the promise of a special category status for Andhra Pradesh. Despite an unsuccessful attempt in the 2019 elections from Gajuwaka and Bheemavaram, Pawan Kalyan remains a key figure in the current political landscape, especially after playing a significant role in rekindling the TDP-BJP alliance. In the current elections, he is contesting for the assembly seat from Pithapuram.
Reflecting on his political journey, Pawan Kalyan expressed his admiration for Nani Palkhivala, emphasizing that politics, for him, is about serving the people and the leadership. When asked about his aspirations to become the Chief Minister, he responded with humility, stating, "If it happens on my path, I will definitely accept it… I think about people and their issues and that’s my fundamental priority. I didn’t come into politics for a particular position. I’m interested in serving people… If given an opportunity, I will definitely take it up."
Regarding the leadership in Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan emphasized unity, stating, “It’s not about the CM’s face. It’s about kicking out Jagan. Whoever becomes the CM — whether Naidu or me — we are all fine. We have a great understanding.” Now fans and supporters of Jana Sena are confident that the party will put up a good show in the coming days.
