Ex-Minister sends a letter requesting tax exemption for Jai Bhim

Jai Bhim is currently the most praised movie in Kollywood but the film is constantly surrounded by controversies. Initially, Hindi-speaking people had a problem with a scene where Prakash Raj can be seen slapping a man for speaking in Hindi.

Later a cheating community filed a case against Suriya and Jyothika for defaming the community and portraying false information. But now, Ex-Minister H.C Mahadevappa has sent a letter to CM Stalin requesting tax exemption and to provide subsidy to screen Jai Bhim movie in theatres.

In the letter, he wrote, ” Recently I watched Jai Bhim movie directed by Gnanavelu. This movie speaks about police brutality and corruption, which is one of the important factors affecting administration & governance. It also speaks of caste-based discrimination and it doesn’t try to sugar-cost things in the process Even though the story belongs 1995, the film points out how even today, nothing much has changed when it comes to the lives of the marginalized people from Dalit Adivasi Communities.”

“I felt that the movie has been shot in a most realistic way. All the characters performed well and to matured to bring out the suffering reality of marginalized communities. Because of its social conviction and right technical execution, it is one of the best story choices in the Indian cinema Industry. I feel it is important for marginalized sections to know about the importance of knowledge, fair fighting and law. This movie empathetically touches all these elements. The movie clearly shows how vested interests manipulate legal proceedings and act cruelly against the interest of Adivati”

“Mr Surya is the main pillar of Jai Bhim, which he produced under his own banner and he deserves to be rewarded for hacking such powerful content about the sufferings of the oppressed against police brutality. But the very sad part is such a film is confined to OTT release OTT reach is still Imited in India. So, to ensure the man reach of this movie I request you to make an arrangement to release this movie on big screens and provide subsidy and tax exemptions to encourage this kind of content that sensitizes society. Also I appreciate your response to ruyal communities by granting them and for their livelihood,” the letter read.
