It’s like marriage with one, first night with another: SS Thaman

Music director SS Thaman is reveling in the success of ‘Akhanda’. He will soon be seen on ‘Alitho Saradaga’, the ETV chat show hosted by Ali.

Thaman has revealed the reason why he hasn’t been accepting Bollywood offers in good numbers. “In Bollywood, they rope in multiple music directors for a film. Each song is sometimes composed by a different music director. And then there is a separate composer for the BGM. It’s like you marry one and go in for the nuptial night with another person,” Thaman said, sounding a bit angry.

Thaman has composed music for three Hindi films: ‘Golmaal Again’, ‘Simmba’ (additional BGM and theme music), and ‘Sooryavanshi’ (BGM only).

The most-happening composer revealed that his wife is his biggest critic. “She trolls me without fail,” he added.

The ‘Bheemla Nayak’ and ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ composer recounted the death of his father due to a heart attack when he was still a child. “My mother used the LIC claim of Rs 60,000 to buy music instruments for me. She didn’t use it for herself or my sister,” Thaman said.
