It has been rumoured that Akkineni Nagarjuna is going to star in a remake soon. He is rumoured to have been impressed with 'Porinju Mariam Jose', the 2019 Malayalam-language period action thriller film.

Turns out that the news is false. On Saturday, its debutant director Prasanna Kumar Bezawada clarified that the film is a straight one. The writer-director happened to say something in the presence of a media person during a casual chit-chat a couple of weeks ago. His words were misinterpreted and a rumour was floated that Nag would be acting in a remake.

It is most likely going to be Nag's 99th film.

Prasanna Kumar, as a writer, awaits the release of 'Dhamaka' this December 23. It has got Ravi Teja in a dual role. Directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, the film will be followed by another one from the writer. It is 'Das Ka Dhamki', starring Vishwak Sen in the lead. The film will hit the screens on February 17 next year.
