Not Shriya, but this Superstar’s heroine in Asuran remake?

Actor Dhanush had teamed up with director Vetrimaran for the fourth time after Pollathavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai with Asuran, which was based on the novel Vekkai written by Poomani, and the movie produced by Kalaipulu S Thanu was released on October 4.

Asuran went on to receive positive reviews and collected more than 100 crores and the movie is still running successfully in few screens. It was recently announced that the movie will be remade in Telugu, with actor Venkatesh playing Dhanush’s role.

There were speculations that actress Shriya Saran might be signed to play the female lead in Asuran Telugu remake, reprising the role played by Manju Warrier in the original. However, there are strong speculations now that Anushka Shetty has been considered for the role, and an official announcement on whether Anushka or Shriya plays the female lead will be out soon.
