Is China readying to wage war against us?

Experts are divided on a possible Indo-China war, but if some moves by China are anything to go by, our neighbour is either going to wage a war or wants us to believe that it is going to wage a war.

Strategic thinker Brahma Chellaney has spoken of three specific moves by China in this context.  “1. China’s stealth intrusions have been followed by frenzied construction activity to fortify defenses. 2. It has evacuated its citizens from India. 3. Xi Jinping has recently appointed a favorite general to lead PLA forces arrayed against India,” he tweets out.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Army has claimed that the People’s Liberation Army’s Commanding Officer was killed in last week’s Ladakh face-off during military-level talks in the Galwan Valley.  Commenting on this, columnist Somnath Mukherjee writes, “If this is true, would be a seriously curious angle – China admitting this, more than what meets the eye.”
