Tesla’s chief executive officer (CEO) Elon Musk, who has been using social media to recruit people, informed that he has roped in Indian-origin Ashok Elluswamy as the first employee of the electric car company’s autopilot team.
Indian-born Ashok Elluswamy holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from the College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG) in Chennai and a Master’s degree in Robotics System Development from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. As per reports, he was previously associated with Volkswagen Electronic Research Lab and WABCO Vehicle Control System.
Elon Musk informed that Ashok is the head of Autopilot engineering. In a video interview posted by Twin Brich co-founder Sawyer Merritt, the Tesla CEO said, “Ashok is actually the head of Autopilot engineering. Andrej is director of artificial intelligence; People often give me too much credit and give Andrej too much credit. The Tesla Autopilot AI team is extremely talented. Some of the smartest people in the world.”
