Following the Pulwama terrorist attack that claimed the lives of over 40 CRPF personnel on February 14, the fate of the 2019 World Cup match between India and Pakistan to be held on June 16 in Manchester stands uncertain.
Making a statement on the same, BCCI sources have reported that a decision will be made closer to the World Cup as the situation is not clear as yet. They added that the decision was not in the hands of ICC and that it solely depends on what the government declares. Regarding the outcome of the match if India chooses not to play against Pakistan, the source said that the latter would get the points in that case, and if it was a final match, Pakistan would win the World Cup without even playing.
There are also reports from ICC sources that state that the India-Pak clash will be discussed on the sidelines of an upcoming ICC meeting to be held in Dubai on February 27.
