Pondicherry govt announces total lockdown and new restrictions due to rising corona cases!

Due to a sudden massive spike in the Covid cases, the Pondicherry administration has decided to impose a total lockdown once a week on Tuesdays starting from August 18 till August 31. The same was announced by Pondicherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy yesterday.
After the Puducherry state Disaster Management Authority (PSDMA) meeting held yesterday evening at Chief Secretariat, Narayanasamy said that due to the scheduling of weddings and social gatherings on Sundays, the administration has decided to impose total lockdowns on Tuesdays.
The total lockdown will be enforced from 6 a.m on Tuesday till 6 a.m on Wednesday, and markets, business establishments, banks, and other offices will be closed. From Friday, shops will be opened from 6 AM to 7 PM, while currently it is 9 PM. The chief minister also announced that the number of people present in marriages must not exceed 50 persons and social distancing must be maintained.
