As we all know the shooting if Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 59th film 'Theri' is fast nearing completion and the team headed by director Atlee are working round the clock to release the film on April 14, 2016.

Vijay plays an Police officer in this film which has Samantha and Amy Jackson as female leads. Now we have learnt from reliable sources that the character name of Vijay in this film is Vijayakumar IPS.

It is worth noting that an IPS Officer with the same name was instrumental in killing forest brigand Veerappan who was allegedly responsible for smuggling sandalwood and elephant tusks. Vijayakumar IPS has held various posts in Police department and he is regarded as an iconic cop by Tamil Nadu youngsters.

Ilayathalapathi Vijay getting his name as his character name while acting as a police officer is some sort of pride for Vijay fans.
