MS Dhoni’s gloves with the Army's "Balidan" (sacrifice) badge symbolizing the regimental dagger of the Indian Para Special Forces were loved and appreciated by fans, who shared the pictures on social media. Due to regulations, however, ICC has now asked BCCI to remove the insignia from Thala Dhoni’s gloves. According to rules: “The ICC equipment and clothing regulations do not permit the display of messages that relate to political, religious or racial activities or causes during an international match.”

Claire Furlong, ICC General Manager, Strategic Communications said “We have requested the BCCI to get it removed,” Dhoni’s love for the army is something he has spoken about on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, that cannot be expressed during the World Cup matches.
