The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 has entered the real interesting phase as four evenly balanced teams will be going all guns blazing to secure the fourth spot in the points table for the semi finals berth. So far New Zealand tops the table with 11 points securing five wins in six matches with one washed out followed by Australia who lost to India in their six matches getting 10 points. India unbeaten so far is in the third position with 9 points having played one game less than the top two.

Tournament favourites England are at the fourth place right now with four wins in their six matches but are under pressure as they have to face Australia, New Zealand and India whom they have never beaten in any world cup tournaments in history. Sri Lanka have a nice chance for the fourth place after their thrilling win against England in a low scoring match and their 6 points could go up to 10 if they perform well against West Indies and South Africa.or even India.

The unpredictable Pakistan side has a clear shot at the fourth spot if they can win all the remaining matches which are against the not so tough opponents Bangladesh and Afghanistan apart from New Zealand. Bangladesh who are a revelation in this tournament having beaten South Africa and West Indies could also cause an upset against Pakistan and if they go past the threatening, Afghanistan in the Monday match.

One thing is for sure and that is the World Cup 2019 has reached the business end and all the remaining matches are going to be do or die ones for the teams more so for those placed at number four to eight.
