It has been rumoured that Thalapathy Vijay and his father SA Chandrasekhar have developed differences. On Thursday, news broke out that SAC had registered a political party named All India Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. This fuelled the speculation that the ‘Sarkar’ and ‘Whistle’ actor was stepping into politics. On the same day, Vijay issued a statement saying that he has nothing to do with the outfit floated by his father.
Since then, there has been a rumour that the ‘Master’ actor and his father are not on talking terms. On Friday SA Chandrasekhar refuted the gossip and said that he had met his superstar-son a couple of times during the pandemic. “There is no truth in the reports that we are not on talking terms,” he said.
In his Thursday statement, Vijay had stated that he is in no way directly or indirectly connected with his father’s outfit. “I am in no way bound to any steps that my father takes politically,” he added, saying that his name or photo shouldn’t be used by it.
