Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday addressed his cadre in Mangalagiri amid a tussle with YCP leaders. He touched upon some of the pressing issues.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “I have invested my personal money for party activities. I have got a lot of self-respect and therefore I have never sought funds from my allies such as BJP. I am not having fun taking abuses from rivals. They are calling me names, but I have shown immense restraint. I am politically active because I am frustrated with the misgovernance in our State.”
“I would have earned crores of rupees legally by investing in real estate. I was making Rs 1 Cr from a movie when a piece of plot in Madhapur was just Rs 1 lakh. Had I bought land pieces back then, I would have been much richer today. I have always been disinclined to amass riches,” Power Star said.
“Political parties have ‘varga shatruvulu’ initially. TRS saw an enemy in Andhra leaders. YCP has its own enemies. Jana Sena doesn’t have any. After a point, poverty and misgovernance are everyone’s enemies,” the actor-politician said.
He recalled the days when caste-based conflicts were rampant in parts of Andhra Pradesh. “I want a casteless society. When Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga garu sat on a dharna claiming that he was facing threat to his life, not even 100 members sat with him. But when he had held a rally, lakhs were there,” the ‘Vakeel Saab’ actor said.
