Home delivery is the best alternative: Netizens

With the overcrowding witnessed in front of wine shops in India, what is the way out? The governments are unlikely to roll back the relaxations given to liquor shops from May 4. Is there a viable alternative?
Netizens feel that home delivery of alcohol, mooted by Kerala in March, would be a great way to go. "My limited observation about what appear to be long lines at liquor shops is that, it begs the question of why big-ticket logistics firms should not home deliver alcohol. It would solve several problems, not to mention establish some QC on the fragmented spirit market," says Mandar Khagade, a writer.
As per some, home delivery of alcohol is prohibited by law. "The state governments would have to throw out rules that don't help. This is an extraordinary situation," a Twitter user says.
Some States are left without an option, considering that they had banned the likes of Swiggy and Zomato from delivering to homes. In such a case, it falls upon the seller to directly deliver liquor to homes. It would be logistically impossible to make home deliveries to hundreds of customers per day.
Therefore, governments must let logistics companies tie up with liquor shops.
