The fight against COVID-19 has been a costly affair. The state governments across the country have had to spend their limited resources at a time when revenues fell precipitously at least till June or even July and August in the case of some States.
On its part, the Jaganmohan Reddy government is said to be spending Rs Rs 10.18 Cr on a daily basis. Here is the break-up: TNIE says that Rs 4.30 Cr is being spent on tests, while another Rs 4.57 Cr is going into procuring medicines. As much as Rs 1.31 Cr is going to financing food for COVID-19 patients in institutional quarantine.
