With the Governor of Andhra Pradesh recently assenting to the 'three capitals' Bill, it's now a matter of time before the YS Jaganmohan Reddy government builds a High Court in Kurnool. In this context, a concept plan for the construction of the HC has been prepared privately.
The plan has reportedly been made with inputs from some senior lawyers of the HC. "Their wish is that the best judicial city in the country comes up with Kurnool. This will be on the National Highway and will be adjacent to the Kurnool Airport. It will be a self-financing project on APIIC land parcel and will make 6,500 acres of APIIC land bank highly valuable and yield a lot of revenue to the government," a note from the proponents says.
"There are 20,000 lawyers practising in the AP High Court. The architect Seshagiri Rao is a fan of the Hon'ble Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy garu," a source avers.
"Even if half of the lawyers take office space of 1,000 square yards, then we will have 10 high tech city buildings in Kurnool. The complex will generate at least 20,000 employment opportunities for youth at a rate of one assistant per lawyer," the note adds.
The concept is by IPS officer Madireddi Pratap.
