Here are Revanth Reddy and his minister’s portfolios

The swearing-in ceremony of the new Telangana Chief Minister and council of ministers at LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday was a grand and momentous event. Revanth Reddy, who led his party to a decisive victory in last month’s Assembly election, took the oath as the Chief Minister of Telangana in a splendid ceremony held at Hyderabad’s LB Stadium. The 54-year-old leader was joined by eleven colleagues, including Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, a chief ministerial aspirant, who was sworn in as Revanth Reddy’s deputy.

The presence of senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with party stalwart Mallikarjun Kharge and chiefs of various state units, added to the significance of the occasion. Gaddam Prasad Kumar, who emerged victorious in the Vicarabad Assembly seat, defeating opponents from the outgoing BRS and BJP, will assume the role of Speaker.

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundarrajan administered the oath to twelve ministers, and the latest reports indicate the allocation of portfolios among them. The key appointments are as follows:

Revanth Reddy: Chief Minister

Bhatti Vikramarka: Deputy Chief Minister, Revenue

Uttam Kumar: Home Minister

Damodara Rajanarsimha: Department of Medical Health

Tummala Nageswara Rao: Road, Buildings Department

Pongulati Srinivas Reddy: Irrigation

Sridhar Babu: Finance Department

Sitakka: Department of Tribal Welfare

Jupalli Krishna Rao: Civil Supply

Ponnam Prabhakar: BC Welfare Department

With the allocation of these portfolios, the newly sworn-in ministers are poised to undertake their responsibilities in various key sectors, marking the beginning of a new phase of governance in Telangana. It is known that Revanth Reddy played a pivotal role in leading his party Congress to the power bringing down the decade long KCR led BRS rule in Telangana with his daring and darshing campaigning in the recently concluded assembly elections. Revanth Reddy’s leadership came in for special appreciation from the political analysts.
