In a tragic road accident, four engineering students have died on Monday on the Chilukurpeta highway in Guntur district on Monday. Four others are critically injured, reports say. One of the survivors was wearing a seat belt, police have said. They were travelling to Vijayawada for New Year shopping.

The victims were travelling in a speeding car. One of them was driving it at a speed of 160 km. When things got out of control, the vehicle hit a garbage dumper of the Municipal Corporation approaching from the opposite side near Lalapet. Due to the sheer force and the resultant effect, the driver and two others in the dumper were also injured.
