Former US President Donald Trump’s first wife and the mother of his eldest children, Ivana Trump, passed away at the age of 73 on Thursday at her house in New York City. Trump informed the same on his social media platform Truth Social.
The former President, however, did not disclose the cause of Ivana’s death. “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life,” Trump wrote. “Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!” he mentioned in the post. A police spokesperson reportedly informed that she was found dead on the stairs inside her apartment and that foul play was not suspected.
Ivana Trump, who was born in Czechoslovakia, met Donald Trump back in 1976 while on a modeling trip to New York. The couple got married in 1977 before parting ways in 1992. She had three children with Trump: Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump. “Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination," the Trump family said in a statement.
