Recently it was officially announced that Veda Nilayam, the residence of former Chief Minister the late J Jayalalithaa in Poes Garden will be converted into a memorial after the government completed the process of legal takeover of the property with the house.
The government had paid Rs 67,88,59,690 to the city court from which legal heirs can claim their share of the money. The thasildar had handed over the land and the house in it to the Government on July 22, and today, the government has released the list of items in the house.
The list of the movable properties inside former CM Jayalalithaa’s Poes Garden residence include 4 kg gold, 601 kg silver, 8376 books, 38 ACs, 11 television sets and 10438 dress materials/ towels/ bed sheets/ curtains/ footwear etc and comes to a total of 32,721 items.
