IPL 2022’s first case of Covid-19 has been confirmed as Delhi Capitals’ physio Patrick Farhart has tested positive for the virus. Players of the Rishabh Pant-led team are currently awaiting their test results, as per a report by a news agency.
An official IPL release said, “Delhi Capitals physio Patrick Farhart has been tested positive for COVID-19. He is being closely monitored by the DC Medical Team at the moment.” If all is well, the team will be playing their upcoming match against Royal Challengers Bangalore later today at the Wankhede stadium. IPL 2021 was suspended midway in May last year after several cases were reported in the teams’ bio-bubble. The rest of the matches of the tournament were postponed and were later completed in UAE by October.
The IPL 2022 matches are currently being conducted across four stadiums in Maharashtra with a 25 percent capacity of crowds. Delhi Capitals, who have played four matches so far, are on the seventh spot in the points table.
