Music director Leon James made heads turn towards him with the two songs he composed for his debut film Kanchana 2` which has turned out to be a blockbuster of the year.
Now the youngster is composing music for Ko 2` a political thriller directed by Sharath. There is enormous expectation on the film not just because of the Ko` tag, but also because of the slick motion poster of the film with scintillating music. In an exclusive interview to Indiaglitz, the talented composer shares more interesting details on what you can expect from Ko 2` music album.
“It has five full songs and two themes. Two songs are melodies. The album is almost ready and the final mixing and mastering is going on. The audio may be released in October first week probably”.
Leon has tried many Bollywood singers in the film. “One high energy song has been sung by Vishal Dadlani who has sung many super hit songs composed by Anirudh in Tamil. Salim Merchant (credited as Salim in the Bollywood Music composer duo Salim-Suleiman) has sung a song and Neethi Mohan has sung a melody. Most of them are new to Tamil and making them understand and pronounce Tamil words takes time. But once they have understood the song will get a different feel. Their voices are unique and that`s why I wanted them to croon my songs.”
The film`s first single track Unnai Maatrinal` has been released as a tribute to former Indian President Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam. “The film needed an inspirational song and director Sharath came up with the idea of using Kalam sir`s quotes from his speeches available in youtube. We explained the idea to Na.Muthukumar sir, and he wrote the lyrics for the song. When Kalam sir passed away we decided to release it as a tribute to him on Independence day and the decision was made just a couple of days before that. The song has received a good response.”
Indiaglitz wishes a great success for the music album of Ko 2` and a fantastic career ahead for this young and energetic music director.
