Former President Pranab Mukherjee, 84, is currently on ventilator support after undergoing a brain surgery at the Army Research and Referral hospital. Pranab Mukherjee was admitted in the hospital yesterday after testing positive for coronavirus.

Pranab Mukherjee tested positive while undergoing routine check-up. He tweeted “On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID-19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19."

Officials have said that former president underwent a successful brain surgery for removal of clot. Pranab Mukherjee was the President of India between 2012 and 2017, and after the pandemic outbreak has been restricting his public interactions.
