The Embassy of Russia in India today revealed that the public broadcasting channel of Russia is airing the Russian version of SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali-2'. It highlighted the fact that Indian films are growing in popularity in that country. "Indian cinema gains popularity in Russia. Look what Russian TV is broadcasting right now: the Baahubali with Russian voiceover!" the tweet by the Russian Embassy read on Thursday.
Acknowledging it, the official Twitter account of 'Baahubali' said, "Woah!!! Pleased to see a Russian TV broadcasting our pride, BAAHUBALI... Jai Maahishmathi."
Starring Prabhas, Anushka, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishna, Subburaj and others, the film hit the screens in 2017 and became a monster hit. Its popularity in Russia is a matter of pride for Telugu cinema. It's said that the most popular Indian film in Russia is 'Bobby' (the Rishi Kapoor Hindi-language movie of the early 1970s), which was a rage in that country.
