Known for constantly reinventing himself, Vishwak Sen continues to stand out as one of Telugu cinema’s most fearless performers. Celebrated for prioritising quality over quantity and for embracing unconventional characters, the actor has earned a reputation as a “Minimum Quality Entertainment Guarantee” hero. Staying true to that image, Vishwak Sen is now headlining an intense political drama titled Legacy.
The film marks the second production venture of Kalaahi Media, following their critically acclaimed debut Pindam. Legacy is also directed by Sai Kiran Daida, whose sharp writing and distinctive filmmaking have already drawn praise. The makers unveiled a strikingly dark and powerful teaser on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2026, instantly sparking strong interest across film circles.
Legacy is positioned as a gripping political drama and character-driven narrative that explores the journey of Siddharth, a reluctant young man forced to inherit the legacy of his highly influential political leader father. The teaser opens with a chilling voiceover by Vishwak Sen, expressing disdain for opportunistic vultures circling power and politics. Despite his hatred for manipulation, deceit, and power games, Siddharth is compelled to step in, believing that a legacy must be carried forward by capable shoulders.
The teaser leaves a lasting impact with bold and unsettling imagery, including Siddharth visiting his late father’s memorial and delivering a shocking New Year greeting, followed by tense sequences involving political leaders, firearms, and psychological confrontation. Vishwak Sen’s portrayal as a deeply broken, grief-stricken, rude, and morally conflicted individual stands out as one of his most intense performances to date. His transformation—through body language, gaze, and raw screen presence—has significantly raised expectations for the film.
After earning critical acclaim with Pindam, director Sai Kiran Daida appears fully focused on delivering a riveting political drama. The teaser showcases his strong command over atmosphere, visual storytelling, and narrative tension. Producers Yeshwanth Daggumati and Saikiran Reddy Daida, with co-producers Sanjay Sambrani and V.V.N. Prasad, have ensured high production values that complement the film’s dark and serious tone.
The film’s background score is composed by Govind Vasantha, whose haunting and sinister music adds depth to the narrative. As the acclaimed composer of 96, Govind Vasantha’s involvement has further heightened expectations. Cinematography is handled by Jiju Sunny, while editing is by Sirish Prasad.
The ensemble cast adds further weight to the project, with Ekta Rathod playing the female lead, alongside seasoned performers Rao Ramesh, Sachin Khedekar, Murali Mohan, and Kay Kay Menon in prominent roles.
With its very first teaser, Legacy has received an overwhelmingly positive response, setting an exciting tone for the year ahead. The film’s shoot is progressing at a brisk pace, and the makers are expected to announce further details soon. With such a strong and provocative start, Legacy promises to be a compelling addition to Telugu cinema’s political drama genre.
