Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed on Monday that there have been two assassination attempts within the past eight months. The revelation came a day after former President of the United States Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania.
Elon Musk made this known in a reply to a tweet by Ian Miles Cheong, who was advising Musk to beef up his security following the attempted assassination of Trump. Musk reported the arrest of two armed individuals about 20 minutes from Tesla Headquarters in Texas.
Following the assassination attempt on him, US President Joe Biden urged calm. The incident at the Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania—a critical state for the November 5 election—involved shots fired at the presidential hopeful's right ear, leaving his face bloodied. In spite of this attack, Trump's campaign stated that he was in excellent condition.
Trump recounted the incident to the Washington Examiner, stating, "I rarely look away from the crowd. "Well, if I hadn't done that at that moment, we wouldn't be talking today, would we?"
The shooting killed one person and injured two more before Secret Service agents reached the scene and killed the suspect. Both Trump and Biden spoke to call for calm and unity in light of the attack.
