Dulqer Salmaans Lucky Bhaskar backs off: Gets a New Date

Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming crime thriller, "Lucky Baskhar," directed by Venky Atluri, is set to hit theaters earlier than expected. The film, originally slated for a September 27th release, will now grace screens on September 7th, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi.

Dulquer announced the new release date on X (formerly Twitter), sharing a captivating still from the film. He wrote, "This Vinayaka Chaturthi, Get ready to experience #LuckyBaskhar's unforgettable journey on the Big Screens! Worldwide Grand Release on 7th SEPT in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil & Hindi Languages. #LuckyBaskharOnSept7th."

The release date shift comes as a strategic move to avoid a box office clash with Sujeeth's highly anticipated film "They Call Him OG," starring Pawan Kalyan, which was also scheduled for September 27th. However, the latter film is facing delays due to Pawan's political commitments.

"Lucky Baskhar" offers a glimpse into the life of Baskhar, a mundane bank cashier seeking a break from the monotony of his existence. The teaser, released in April, portrays him as a "common, middle-class, Indian man" whose life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a significant sum of money. The film explores the consequences of his newfound wealth and showcases his love story with Meenakshi Chaudhary.

Set in the late 1980s to early 1990s, the film transports viewers back in time with meticulously crafted sets replicating Bombay from that era. A bank resembling those from the period was constructed in Hyderabad for the film.

"Lucky Baskhar," produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya of Sitara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, features music composed by GV Prakash Kumar. The film boasts a talented team, including production designer Banglan, who brought authenticity to the sets, and cinematographer Nimish Ravi, who brought Venky's vision to life.

The film will release in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi, promising a captivating cinematic experience. With its intriguing storyline, strong cast, and meticulously crafted world, "Lucky Baskhar" is poised to be a cinematic treat.
