Minutes after the Supreme Court delivered the Ayodhya verdict, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy appealed for peace and calm. He said that the verdict was delivered by the highest court only after the parties to the dispute had assured that the verdict will be respected by them whichever way it goes.
"I appeal to all sections to not make provocative comments that can affect religious amity. The public has to maintain calm," the CM said.
The SC ruled that 2.77 acres of disputed land will go to Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas for the construction of Ram Temple. Five acres of land will be allotted for the construction of a mosque at a prominent place in Ayodhya.
