Donald Trump on Wednesday offered to mediate between India and China regarding the border standoff between the two countries. Taking to Twitter, the US President said, "We have informed both India and China that the United States is ready, willing and able to mediate or arbitrate their now raging border dispute. Thank you!"
The tweet is yet to trigger an official response from India at the time of writing this. However, many social media influencers have reacted in hilarious ways to Trump's proposal. "Before that, India is ready to mediate between United States and China for all the raging disputes between them," tweeted Keh Ke Peheno. Columnist Somnath Mukherjee said that India should welcome Trump's offer "even as a cheap thrill." He added, "Imagine China's predicament."
Meanwhile, Times Of India reported that the Chinese foreign ministry stated that the "situation on the China-India border is generally stable and controllable".
