In an unexpected turn of events, DMK leader and MP Kanimozhi has tested positive for the novel coronavirus earlier today. Kanimozhi had been actively campaigning for DMK candidates across the state for the Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
As per sources, Kanimozhi has cancelled her campaign plans and has isolated herself at her home in Chennai after getting the test results. Kanimozhi has now admitted herself at the Apollo Hospital in Chennai.
Kanimozhi was supposed to travel to Madurai for campaigns as the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are scheduled for April 6, and the campaigning will end at 5 pm on Sunday as per the Model Code of Conduct.
