Director Bala’s ‘Tharai Thappattai’ starring Sasikumar and Varalakshmi in the lead roles is all set to hit the screens for Pongal festival. This is the 1000th film of maestro Ilayaraja and the songs have received a great appreciation from the music lovers and critics.
Now from sources close to the team, we learn that the Discovery Channel has joined with ‘Tharai Thappattai’ crew and Discovery’s camera team has acted in a particular scene in the film. The film has a portion in which the adventure channel comes to India to explore the heritage values of south Indian culture and they find Sasikumar's band which exhibits the traditional music of Tamil Nadu.
Speaking to press, General Manager Rahul Jory of Discovery Asia Pacific has revealed that the channel always wants to explore the tradition of India and they teamed with ‘Tharai Thappattai’ since it naturally expresses the heritage of Tamil Nadu.
