The wedding ceremony of ace director Shankar's elder daughter, Aishwarya, unfolded in Chennai today. She tied the knot with Tarun Karthikeyan, an assistant director in the film industry, in a lavish ceremony. A legion of politicians and cine celebrities graced the occasion.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Superstar Rajinikanth, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Chiyaan Vikram, Nayanthara, director Mani Ratnam, Vignesh Shivan and many others were in attendance for the joyous ceremony. Aishwarya and Tarun's wedding took place with the blessings of friends and family with fans pouring wishes on them.

For the unversed, Aishwarya Shankar was previously married to cricketer Rohit in June 2021 but the marriage ended later when Rohit was arrested under the POCSO Act. She is leaving the past behind her and embarking on a new life with Tarun Karthikeyan, filled with love and hope. Director Shankar is awaiting the release of 'Indian 2' in June on the work front.
